Bradbury Small Family Farm focuses on traditional farming like our family and neighbours did in the past - Small, Family Run and Diverse. All of our livestock are humanely raised in small groups on a bed of straw, in secure locations with room to roam, sunlight and fresh air all while being provided the best quality feed available. Our children are a huge part of the daily farming activities with each having their animals to tend to daily. They are learning responsibility, animal welfare, and how hard work has rewards that are both large & small. This lifestyle provides lessons that will last them a lifetime.

Our Story
Tom & Jeanette started out in Oro Township running a cow calf operation from 1999 - 2005. During those years we also raised Veal, Sows & feeder Pigs (for freezer orders). 2003 brought us the Mad Cow crisis that proved we were too small, too young and at the wrong stage of life to ride it out. In 2005 we were retired from farming and left Oro in 2006 when the opportunity arose for us to purchase Jeanette's grandmothers retirement home beside her family's original home farm. Returning to Cookstown provided us with the perfect opportunity and just enough space to show our children the farming life on a small scale while filling our freezers full of the high quality, raised by us food we love so much.
In 2017 our son Earl started raising his own small flock of sheep and has been growing his flock every year since.
A few years later our daughter Elizabeth started caring for a flock of Laying Hens.
Spring of 2020 we expanded our production to provide you & your family with the same amazing food we enjoy each and every day with cuts of freezer meat, simply by word of mouth.
January 2021 we explored the value added side of our farm & expanded into Bradbury Small Family Farm Inc. Now we create high quality Bird Seed and Livestock Feed at our little farm for our growing customer base. Feed and Birdseed manufacturing is an industry Tom has over 15 years of experience in, so transitioning into a small business seemed like an easy and logical move when life provided us the opportunity. Since we feed Jones Feed Mill Ltd. products on our farm we became a proud dealer for our community. We are just minutes from 400 Hwy and can speak to the high quality and performance this feed provides our animals. We will assist you using our first hand experience with the feeds exceptional performance.
To date our success is due to fabulous neighbours, friends, family and our supportive community. They are also the ones that will have the biggest impact on our continued success and growth as we move forward into the future. Today we are working on expanding our meat production while increasing our customer base for Birdseed and Animal Feeds. Word of mouth and social media have played a huge role as we have increased our customer base over this past year. The best part about running a small family business in South Simcoe are the people. We continue to meet new customers that quickly develop into friendships. We look forward to meeting you as well. We are excited for the future and are open to all opportunities our small farm business might provide for us moving forward.
